Upcoming Garden Tours and Other Info

SHS Home Grounds Award


       Do your friends admire your garden?  If so consider entering the SHS Home Grounds Award competition. Entered gardens can be any size, be well maintained and can feature a variety of garden styles and landscaping – vegetables, perennials, hardscaping, unique plants, trees and shrubs, annuals, vegetables.  Deadline for entries is July 11 at 5:00 p.m.  The winner receives a cash award as well as a memento to keep and the garden is featured on the Bus Tour.For more information, contact Norm at 306-382-4061 or Angie at 306-242-2320

Take a break to enjoy three afternoons viewing some of the city’s most interesting gardens

 July 12 Garden Passport Tour
this is a “Drive Yourself” tour.  Purchase a passport at Dutch Growers or Early’s (either location) and spend the afternoon enjoying five gardens.  A great tour if you like to linger in some gardens, enjoying the plants and chatting with the owner.  Gardens are open from 1:00 - 4:00p.m. Cost is $10 per person for the tour.

July 27 - City Garden Bus Tour
Enjoy being driven around in an air-conditioned city bus for the afternoon.  You will visit some of the city’s most interesting gardens.  Tour buses leave starting at 1:00 p.m. from the Mall at Lawson Heights.  Cost of the tour is $20 for SHS members, $25 for non-members.  Membership card must be shown for discount. To reserve your seat please call Marj at 249-1329 or Shirley at 382-4061.

 August 2 -  Garden Passport Tour - .
